I tried to go to Sin City for the weekend. My friend got ill at the airport so I stayed with her and got her home....
When I told my friend who was going to meet use there, he said I should have left her there and let her get an UBer home.
What would you do?

You are a good friend. On the other hand, I would be very careful where I go with the people that suggested you just Uber her home.

Yeah, they realized that was pretty cold hearted when I said she was a friend of 40years. They were just disappointed I wasn’t coming out. Your point is well taken!!!

I would take care of my friend. If you feel good about your decision, that is all that matters.

I would have done exactly the same thing you did. Really??? Leave a sick friend at the airport and go on your merry way?? No, just no.

Thank you. I couldn’t believe they even suggested that! Upside I got her home safely and she was fine later. Downside I don’t think I will ever travel with her again. Air travel is a privilege I can’t take a chance of losing. How can I explain that to her without losing her friendship.

@PSLMermaid Good question. I'm not sure how I'd handle that part, more than anything it would depend on what kind of person she is.

@PSLMermaid I don't know what kind of illness your friend experienced. It sounds like you think it is more than possible it will happen again. I would explain to her that you can't afford to lose another Airline ticket and hope that in the future the trips that you plan with her will use a different kind of transportation.
