----Walking under ladders, four leaf clovers, broken mirrors----
I was never really religious, but I use to be a little superstitious. Things like "knock on wood", or throwing spilled salt over my left shoulder...I'm sure there were many more. I still catch myself saying "knock on wood" or actually doing it when talking about something that needs a little hope, but I don't believe it has any affect...it's just habit. The same with the salt. Are there any superstitions that you do out of habit?

I won’t walk under a falling building.

No, none that I'm aware of, though I do avoid walking under ladders.

I wear a chain with something belonging to each of my late parents. I have only left the house without it twice in the last three decades or so, and felt a little uneasy about it, like I didn't have my good luck charm with me. That is my only superstition.

Superstitions are a fun thing from our culture that I participate in from time to time. Of course I don’t take them seriously though.

None out of habit, but I do like to salute Magpies. Not for habit or superstition, but just because it seems to be such a fun thing to do, the magpies, especially the European ones, are such jaunty birds that they seem to be asking for a smart hello.

Magpies are, I think, members of the same family as crows that are about as smart as dogs. They may understand.
