We always cut a real tree for the holiday, loving the fragrance in the house. I do not get live, though, as the ball of roots adds enough weight to make it too heavy for my ailing back.

Dinner with the family – Drinks, good food and interesting and sometimes hilarious conversations. No gifts needed for me. That's the gift right there.

When it’s over and the shops are sensible again
