My take on the ‘family separation’ situation was, there were no facilities with the capacity to hold indevidual ‘family units,’ so children were separated from adults and each detained separately.

As much as I despise trump ..and realize he was elected due to his adherence to the nation’s festering concern over unlimited illegal immigration... his people were basically starting from scratch with regard to serious enforcement. And, at every juncture were dogged by those attempting to rally opposition to his/ their every act. No win.

Though his ...or the policies of those he turned border security over to have worked, they were not implemented in the nuanced manor necessary to ease more of the nation into it. Sure, there were folks like me, after a life-time of abuse, ready for some tuff action … but most in ‘my camp’ weren’t.

Other than his idiotic ‘Wall’ fixation … aimed at the ignorant.. the policies have proven effective. Too bad it took nearly a declaration of war to finally put them into action.. And, if pinned down, any Democratic opponent not planning to keep the pressure on illegal immigrants will grow trump’s base ..and cut deeply into Democratic margions.
