Oh what fun it to an Atheist at this time of year.
Yesterday, while biding my time to keep an appointment, I was sitting on a public bench, enjoying the shade and resting my aching legs when along came, Yes, you guessed it, 2 Bible-thumpers handing out pamphlets with " Remember, Jesus is the Reason for the Season" printed in very bold letters on them.
They proceeded to try and hand me one whilst asking " Have you found Jesus?"
I just couldn't help myself and replied, quite nicely, " No, is he still lost,that must be longest game of Hide and Go Seek in history, he'd have to the world Champion by now."
They then tried to tell how Jesus is the real reason for the Yule Tide Season which is fast approaching.
Again, I could NOT help myself and simply responded with, " Did you known that the ACTUALLY reason for the season is because of the position of this planet, Earth, is in right here and now is the one, the only and the REAL reason for the season and what you so loosely claim to be the Yule Tide is actually based upon the very and even more ancient Northern European Tradition of burning a very massive YULE log in the fireplace of the Communal Dwelling starting from the day of the Winter Solstice and ending when the winter snows began to melt away announcing the arrival of Spring."
"Is it not quite strange and odd how Christianity had so few traditions initially that it desperately needed to adopt and warp the traditions of the so-called Pagan Cultures just to gain them?"
It looks very much like I have, yet again, put the 'spoilers' on the celebrations of a few more of the Faithfools, so sad, too bad, I'm glad and I hope it gets their minds to thinking for a change.
