I lived in Denver, Co for over 25-years. I would tell visitors that they need to drink a lot of water, keep the alcohol to a minimum and don't over stress themselves. Not everyone experiences "altitude sickness." Many do not feel the effects of altitude sickness under 9,000 feet. Santa Fe is at 7,200 feet.

Have a great time there. Lots of museums and art galleries. There is a Mission south of the city that serves the best in New Mexican-Mexican food, if they are still open. Last time I was in Santa Fe was in 1998.

I went to Denver, and in the city was fine. Drove up to Golden which was around 6000 feet and felt short of breath. It took more effort to walk around, is all.

You might find it a bit harder to get your breath, but that should be all.

Dont drink alcohol. You'll feel drunker and you'll get worse hangovers. Be smart if you decide to try it anyhow.

At seven thousand one hundred feet altitude, you could feel tired more quickly.
I don't believe you would experience sickness at that altitude.
When I re-situated from sea level, I was told tiredness is what would happen to me.
After about two weeks, altitude was no longer a factor with exercise.

Santa Fe is about 7,100 feet in altitude. Generally speaking, you should be ok.

But if you feeling peculiar, lower your altitude. And it's always good to have an observant friend along.

Most altitude issues happen at higher altitudes.

Practice deep breathing to adjust to local conditions and do so riding airplanes and sit outside the airport for a few minutes before strolling with luggage to your ride

Cant say I have ever had it but my high altitude, isnt very many times . Hope you will be alright tho , Be careful ok..
