Caroll Spinney, the legendary puppeteer behind beloved Sesame Street characters Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch, died today, December 8th 2019, at age 85 at his home in Connecticut, after living with Dystonia for some time.

Well, there it is. The end of an era. I'm sure the show will continue, as I'm sure that's what Mr. Spinney would want: to continue on without him and inspire kids to be more inclusive and tolerant, to keep covering tough subjects and not talk down to their audience.....but it's not going to be the same. Many of us grew up with Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch and even if the show came around when you were an adult, there was still things to learn on Sesame Street.

Indeed the world is a darker place without him.

@JayOleck38 I'm sure they have a replacement for him.. Big Bird won't be going away..
