So if Donald Trump officially isn't president anymore and it's passed by the Constitutional Court... Mike Pence, the vice president, is next in line? (Correct me if I'm wrong). Do you think Mike Pence will do a better job if this happens? He's a little more diplomatic than Trump but his ideas are awful too.

mike pence would create a Christian theocracy

@vjohnson51 I would be learning the words to “ Oh Canada” if that happened

@vjohnson51 it would be an easy move miles wise for you and you are already used to cold weather . I would have to hibernate in the winter coming from Southern California LOL

@bklynite53 eastern parts of Canada have a climate like southern New England due to the Gulf Stream

Mike Pence will be so terrible that we all would wish Trump was our president. Pence is a religious freak that will take the country to the extreme. It is like Saddam Hussein in Iraq. Nobody liked the guy but once he was gone, the mayhem ensued. The same will happen with Pence.

Trump is still regrettably your president. The House impeachment is the equivalent of a grand jury trial. It is used to find out if there is enough evidence to take a case to a jury trial, which will be the Senate hearings. The Speaker of the House Pelosi will be the prosecutor who will decide when that happens. In the meantime Trump is free to go about committing more crimes and hopefully not taking the entire country down with him.

We might be a tad more better off, but congress is not going let do much. Unless he makes attempt to fix Trumps fuck ups during remainer of the term.

It's kind of beside the point. Trump has broken the law, thinks he's above it, and needs to go. If Pence does the same, he'll get impeached too. One problem at a time.

These attempts to play 12-dimensional chess aren't how the system works. You hand down an indictment (impeachment articles in this case) if the evidence warrants it, and there's not an exception if you don't like the next guy in line.

The irony is that if they weren't concealing evidence we could probably impeach Pence as well. Then we'd have President Pelosi, if only briefly. As a progressive I don't trust her either, for entirely different reasons, although she'd be a thousand times less bad than Trump, to be sure.

I find it difficult to believe that Pence would be as bad or worse than Trump. In some subtle Machiavellian ways he could be, I suppose. He likely wouldn't hand his own ass to us on a sliver platter like Trump has. But that's a problem for another day. Pence would be politically crippled and unlikely to win in 2020, so that's in the mix, too.

With a year left in office he would be the most lame duck President in the history of the Presidency. He would not be a real problem.

@vjohnson51 Yes.

@vjohnson51 I believe he does believe in conversion therapy and the Christians do love him. I don't believe he has the charisma to fire up the base. Actually he has the charisma of a port-a-potty.

No. Hell no, fuck no, shit no, goddamn NO....although not necessarily in that order. There is not ONE being in this cabinet of Dr. Caligari's unimaginable horrors that would be suited to do the job. They are ALL odious abominations of nature. The ONLY things impeachment (which will NEVER happen) will do are a) bruise little Lord Cheetodicks ego and b give me a glorious, glimmering ray of sunshine in this otherwise dismal nuclear holocaust of a presidency.

@vjohnson51 You should have seen me in my Twitter days. I'm on permanent lifetime ban for getting a bit...."heated" going after a certain black, female Trump supporter "news" pundit coughCandaceOwens*cough. I have hung up my spurs in trying to argue with them anymore.

@vjohnson51 Of I saw PLENTY of Little Lord Cheetodick's tweets. Even responded to a few. He is a giant pillar of Jello mold. Twitter was cathartic for me, but it took me down a dark place.

And yep, banned for life. Don't remember what the first strike was for, but calling Tomi Lahren a vapid, vaccuous bimbo is a no-no (even though she is) and accusing Canned-arse Owens of shucking and jiving for Trump was the straw that broke the Twitters back....even though she is. In retrospect, probably not the best choice of words, but again....best thing that has happened to me. I'm more at peace now than I was when dealing with them.

As I understand it, Pence is a theocrat. I'm not sure if he'll do a better job, but he's probably more in keeping with usual decorum. I am sure I'll disagree with a lot of stuff he does, if not all of it.

By the way, Trump is still officially president if and until the Senate passes the articles of impeachment. Impeachment is like a grand jury indictment.

No, I don't. I think it'll just be awful in different ways - but at least some small bit of the clownishness will be eliminated from politics - or not - still got Graham, #moscowmitch, and tea partiers with microphones and a whole host of bad ideas/options.

@vjohnson51 yup. And since #moscowmitch is co-ordinating the trial with trumps lawyers it's going to be a farcical circus that mocks the constitution and the will of the people.

It's fucking treasionious, IMO.

Mitch McConnell, the head of the Senate. He is a Russian ally.

@vjohnson51 he's the Senate majority leader, and there's a strong chance, based upon appearance and dim reaction times that he's actually cursed with lycanthropy and is in fact a were-turtle.

To bad the condition isn't covered by his insurance.

@vjohnson51 his stance is typically bent over a desk providing whatever orriface to Trump he desires.

He's pro endless war, pro tobacco, pro russian meddling in our elections, pro subverting democracy to keep the GOP in power, anti LGBTQ+, pro theocracy, and pro eating small insects, snails, worms, and aquatic plants.

@vjohnson51 Yes, he is. The republicans control the Senate, and the Democrats control the Congress. Congress can impeach the president, but then there has to be a trial in the Senate, and not one republican will vote to convict him, because they're all corrupt and vote in lockstep with each other.

@Bobby9 I'd like to hear your theory on why McConnell continues to promote the bogus theory that Ukraine interfered with our election, when it was clearly Russia. Please advise.
