I love experimenting with Cranberries. Made some mini tarts to share with friends at the various coffee. Shop. This is how I made them this time. Cranberry’s plus 1 cup of Dark Amber Maple Syrup in place of sugar. Added but first took 1/2 of peeled lime , lemon and orange rinds Put them in a grinder and ground up fairly fine and then added to cooking cranberry’s and then a big squeeze of the lime, lemon and orange for their juice. Squeeze was by hand. Mixed contents well snd let savour on low heat. Browned up tarts in oven and then filled the shells and then back in the oven for a few minutes just to thicken the cranberry’s up. Very yummy not sweet but not overly tart either. Can make a pie This way but if you do. Add a bit of certo to Thicken. Pop into browned pie crust and then add an optional Lattece top or crumble or leave it naked.

Looks good.....I don't like too sweet anything.

no just lightly on the tart side,,

@RoyMillar I just may try this. I like to cook my own cranberries so I can control the sweeteing, & I use it as a toast jam too.

@Lilac-Jade great i sometimes just add cut up apple only to for Turkey In the past when I did use sugar I used Demara sugar jas a higher molasses content which helps with flavour also

@RoyMillar Yes, that has a good flavour. I seldom follow a recipe to the letter for anything. There is always something I want to change or do differently.

Yes I started experimenting a few years ago but always use the dark amber the darker the better or commercial grade for extra flavour but is no as sweet as the Grade A light syrup

@RoyMillar Darker always has better flavour.
