I am always willing to give new people a try, but I am especially curious about the people, places, plants and animals of places other than the USA. If anybody would enjoy letting me pick your brain, I'm sure no matter where your from I'll have questions

I'm in the UK, in the English midlands.

My father in law was living in France until last year, my sister spends her summers in Turkey, my brother is in Tenerife, my brother in law is living in Sweden and my cousin has just moved back to the Uk from China with his wife.#

How can I help?

🙂 🙂

Well my goodness! Where do I start? Ok so my mom and I would like 2 know, is marijuana legal in any way in any of those places? Where is tenerife? Is it really illegal 2 spit on the sidewalk in china? Is all of frances food weird snails and duck paste? I mean, they gotta have something good! Are swedish people really THAT happy all th time? Also, other than some pandas and stuff in china, what are some of t unique animals in these areas?

Ok, here we go. Cannabis is not legal in any of those places.

Tenerife is a small (very touristy) island in the Atlantic Ocean just off the west coast of north Africa.

I have no idea whether it is illegal to spit on the sidewalk in China.

French food is far more than snails and wierd stuff - bread and pastries are specialities along with fish and seafood dishes. Great beef from Limousin cattle too.

Yes.

Bot sure about Chinese animals as most of their time was spent in Beijing - big city full of smog and traffic.

I have never travelled outside my own country (OZ) and have not travelled much inside it.
Yet I have friends from all over the world, some are here, some are from here and are overseas, and some I have met while they were in Oz. I have learned much from them all, So feel free.

Oh my golly! I freaking love Australia! It is one of my as of yet undecided favorite places. If I ever get in trouble with the law again, it will probably be for something like stowing away on a plane to Australia. Lol. I have to go to sleep for a bit, but you should probably mentally prepare yourself for the barrage of questions that will be coming your way soon! Until then, have a pleasant whatever time of day or night your currently at!

Ok! Have u ever been inside one of those underground homes? Do they get really dirty being underground? Australia has most of my favorite animals. Have u ever had any noteworthy encounters with any of them? (Please nothing gruesome, not trying 2 cry this morning) most of what I've seen of Australia on TV shows a hot dry place, is there more 2 it than just that? Also, what is the weirdest law u guys have?

@Byrd no, have not been to the underground homes, they exist in a few places, whole towns under ground. My foster son goes to one for his business. People here joke how they lead the rest of the world on about riding kangaroos to school and such. Many city people hardly see them. I had a small block a few years ago, there would be 30 on it at any time, and about 100 plus dusk till dawn. We had 3 resident emus.
My son had a pet echidna 25 years ago, well, not so much a pet, more a playmate, it was wild, followed him everywhere and he could pick it up no worries. I teach animal behaviour and do wildlife care so I see most of them.

In Western Australia, Section 22 of the Marketing of Potatoes Act 1946 prohibits anyone from selling, delivering, purchasing, or taking delivery of 50kgs (or what appears to be 50kg) or more of potatoes unless you are a member of the Potato Corporation or an authorised agent. Here is a pic of my dog when we had our last acreage. She loves all animals.

@Byrd Re hot and dry, yes there is more to it, but, Australia is the driest continent, and most of us live on the east coast fringe, a few in south western Australia, other than that , small towns out west. On the coast I have had 4 cattle to an acre, nice and lush, out west, in a good area, you may be able to run 1 sheep for every 4 acres. We have great rainforests, tropical islands and such. I have never seen the outback, and to be honest have no desire to, I like it lush and green here on the coast with surf and rainforests.Oh yeah, not sure if we still do, but at one point we had the highest percentage of the population surfing than anywhere else.

@Rugglesby monotremes r one of my favorite groups! And we had an emu when I was a kid. It lived with a llama and an alpaca, they beat a lady up cuz she was stupid and didn't listen when we told her not 2 go in with them as it was mating season and he would usually get kinda grumpy. Thank u!

You can ask me about Russia. But you should be very careful, some might call that "Collusion"! 🙂

Jagga Level 4 Mar 27, 2018

Lmao! Ok first question...is it really as common as the internet would have me believe for Russians to have bears as pets?

@Byrd Yes. It helps us to survive long winters. Sleeping bear (they usually sleep during winters) doesn't consume much food but generates huge amount of warmth.
In summers we use them for plowing. 🙂

I am just kidding. Of course it is not that common to have a hand bear as a pet, despite the fact some Russians have them indeed. Cats and dogs are the most common pets here.

@Jagga you just made my day! Spot on sense of humor! I didn't think so but hey, how often do I get a chance 2 ask? Next question, is it always cold there or is that, again, just the part they show you?

@Byrd My pleasure. You may ask as often as you have a question. Climate fluctuates here from region to region, but in general we have four seasons. It is quite similar with North Dakota I suppose.

@Jagga Ah ha! I knew it couldn't possibly be all fur coats and cuddling for warmth!
