Christmas Day Plans?

I will enjoy the day on my own as my daughter and her family will be at her husbands family for the day (I get Thanksgiving, they get xmas) and my son and granddaughter live in Tx. We will have our celebrations this weekend.

I will hang around in my jammies, have Eggs Benedict for brunch and for dinner I'll have spinach souffle, scalloped corn and tiropita (Greek feta cheese and filo triangles).

This year for gifts I made homemade salsa, pumpkin bread, almond bark pretzels, pecan fudge and chex mix.

On our celebration the grandsons will open gifts and for dinner we'll have grilled shrimp, steak with cheesy mashed potatoes, green beans with toasted almonds, carrot salad and for dessert... pies (apple & cherry) with vanilla ice cream.

What are your holiday plans?

Family. There are only a few holidays a year like this. Thankfully.

Today is the last Xmas in the folks house before assisted living/memory care. Last year SHOULD have been the last one, so my plans are to smile, prep and cook, mitigate each and every disaster that happens with cheer, clean up, smile even harder, then at 4 jump into the car and head for SeaTac to pick up the stepdaughter - who will be the most cognizant adult my wife and i will see all day.

I can't wait for midnight.

@NoPlanetB 🙂

@NoPlanetB 2 broken arms, minor car crash weekly, a diet of proccesed sugar, incontinence, no concept of money (except that people want it), I could go on and on.

We'll get through this but "the joy of helping others" gets stale. Sry

@NoPlanetB it's ok, only another 5 or so years to go. 😉

Enjoy yourself, for life is not a long long time.

Happy holidays!
