What are some of the somewhat natural sounds that give you joy? Some of mine are the quiet whisper of a breeze blowing through pine trees, the gurgling of water from a small spring, many bird calls (including wrens, mockingbirds, cardinals, and raucous blue jays, the sounds of a large migrating flock of ducks, geese and sandhills cranes); the sound of wind chimes

Waterfalls...in my RV i keep a couple of books about New England Waterfalls, they do not have street addresses, so "fun"to find the old-fashioned way as well.

Up north here the sound of wind in the trees is completely different between winter and summer. In summer it's the warm rush of leaves. In winter it's a raw sound of wind blowing through bare branches.

In summer I love the crickets at night and cicadas in day.

At night I can hear trains rolling through. Sometimes I can hear train cars being switched.

Once in a while, on a still dark, night I can hear an owl in the woods outside the house. I find this really soothing and pleasant.

The one thing that fills me up and moves me each time I hear it...

Standing still during a snowstorm and having the quiet hissing sound of all the snowflakes as they land on everything, the trees and the ground. It's such a soft sound that the snow has to be heavy enough and the stillness needs to be complete.

Yes! Thanks for reminding me of that. The sound of falling snow! Especially when it's cold and grainy.

PS. Bees buzzing around flowers and rain outside when you are in.

All of those of course. But for something different, I also really love the sound of Corvids, crows and ravens, especially the one that nest socially. There is something domestic and homely about it, especially at the end of day, when it tells you they are settling down for the night, and all is well in their world, apart for the usual domestic soap opera that is their social life, so much and so timelessly like that of a human village.
