Many local libraries have subscriptions with ASTC (Association of Science - Technology Centers), AZA (Association of Zoos and Aquariums) and have a program where library cardholders can access discounted passes to places like Science and Art museums, children's museums, Zoos, etc? I didn't know about this for years. My local library allows me to reserve the pass online.
Some museum memberships also allow reciprocity. For example, the membership to the Boston Museum of Science provides free or discounted access to many ASTC and AZA locations worldwide.
I know I sound like a commercial, but I honestly think these programs are awesome!
