Many people join this forum to discuss disillusionment with mainstream religions, but not every member wants to discuss philosophy and religion, etc..some want to date.

Many of us have other interests and are over the whole religion angst thing.

If men want to date women from this website, it's probably wise to read their bios and old posts, then start commenting in threads they've already posted, remembering to show interest in their opinions and hobbies.

If women respond positively, consistently laughing at their jokes, then it might be time to send a private message, discussing one of her interests.

If a woman seems to enjoy the interactions, and she lives nearby, suggest meeting her in a cafe near her place for coffee, each driving separate cars.

If she still seems friendly after the date, suggest another date at least a week in advance, letting her pick the time and place and see if she starts making excuses and finding ways to get out of it, or seems OK with it.

Nobody is for everyone, so let women decide what they want, since they are the ones taking the risks.

Most cis hetero men ask women on dates in an attempt to seduce them ASAP, no conversation wanted or needed.
It's mostly fun and games for him, with the goal of satisfying sexual urges.

But if a typical cis hetero woman starts dating, she has a different goal..a lifetime partner who has her back and thinks she hung the moon.

But, sadly, a woman starting a new dating relationship must consider STDs, pregnancy, jealousy, violence, and if she doesn't do a thorough background check, unrevealed baggage like current and ex wives, children, debts, gambling or drug addictions, criminal records, etc.

Yep, you nailed it. I was 100% over the religious thing 40+ years ago, but it appears to be the rage here. Nothing to talk about on that subject, but most gals I've dated are still swinging back and forth between religions, mysticism, "spiritualism" and various forms of hocus pocus. But your list at the end is daunting. At my age it's not "children" that are the issue... it's the women who have ended-up moving to be close to grandchildren. They have to pick them up at the bus stop, take them to dance lessons, attend weekend sports. I went through that it seems 2-generations ago. Seeking women who are childless, or at least not reliving their lives with the grands and within a half-day's drive. Not sure they exist. Debts can be fixed. Addictions, not so much. On STDs, I pay for both of us to have the 10-panel test, but most turn out to have one or more, despite initial denials. Glad I have my dogs!
