I don't see any subject heading listed on cooking techniques.
In my case, I alter conventional recipes to make them safe for someone who is gluten and lactose intolerant, with cancer issues.
I can no longer eat fresh food; fruit, vegetables, greens, vitamins, and roughage without severe pain. It has to be extremely processed and cooked to mush.
I ordered a box of Bisquick gluten free pancake mix from Amazon, but the glycemic index on the first batch was too high.
So I added a scoop of yogurt, an egg, a tbsp each of flax and walnut meal, a heaping tsp of hemp powder, and mixed well, fried in pan with almost no oil.
I then dribbled some maple syrup over the stack of pancakes, and slid them into a flat tupperware bowl to store for snacks.
I had a few first, though, holding them as though they were pastries...DELICIOUS!!!
So far, no negative reactions, but experience tells me not to celebrate too early.
(SIgh) I celebrated too early. It may not have been the pancakes, since I also had half a packet of quick oats, but I felt sort of sickish this morning, like I used to feel back in the 1970s when fighting getting the flu.
Taking droppers of cannabis oil not only stops pain and kills cancer cells, it usually takes care bacteria, infections, viruses, parasites, etc.; doctors tell me I am perfectly healthy when I'm checked in the hospital, except for fourth stage cancer (no doubt from extreme exposure to DDT as a child).
But I should take warning and back off both the quick oats and Bisquick pancakes, with it's highly refined flour. I've been getting better each time I go to the hospital, and even the pleasure of eating favorite childhood foods isn't worth challenging my immune system.
