He was an amazing man. I just read his ‘How to Keep Your Cool’. I will read it again. An ancient guide to anger management. Considering the tyrants he served it would be hard to not live in daily fear. Life must have been terrifying in those days. People killed daily at the forum for the Emperor’s amusement. Sometimes the Senators thrown in. Just pondering his life and how he coped. One of the reasons I embrace stoicism.
