Evidence of human life 120,000 years ago in Australia.
But was it ancestral to today's Australian aboriginals claiming ownership of the land:

Thatβs brilliant research. Canβt imagine the sides agree just yet but what a brilliant discovery if the science backs it up.
Very interesting indeed. Was there an earlier occupation by peoples who later died out, leaving only a trace of genetic material in spme modern day populations? Does the aborigine genome, like that of Papua, carry a 2% similar anomaly? Were they space farers who wanted a barbie in wild, natural surroundings?
Human dna would be interesting particularly if it proves that current day aborigines were not first occupants.
@FrayedBear It seems that people are looking to displace aboriginals..and first nations and natives to say.. O you weren't the first here. Even though native history shows occupation for many thousands of year at least.
@AmmaRE007 Try applying that philosophy to Israel. Probably the Mesopotamians and Assyrians (Syrians, Iraquis and Turks) have the best claim. Their occupancy predates early Jews. Even the old testament verifies that the wandering Jews usurped the 'promised land" from the peoples who were there.
How's that for throwing the cat among the pigeons?
@AmmaRE007 Many who have settled and successfully lived in an area have been suborned by violent malicious invaders. Yes it is nasty, ugly & inhumane but until human DNA is manipulated to prevent such behaviour it will not change. Incidentally it is interesting that Australian Aboriginals traditionally do not believe in possessions and certainly have no concept of land ownership - they consider themselves custodians.
