That's how I was raised, too. It wasn't until my late 20's that I dared to set aside blind faith and apply facts and evidence to my research on religion. That's how I escaped the scam that is religion.
I did have my doubts, though, as a child. When I discovered that Santa Claus was fictitious, I wondered about gods, too. But my parents and sunday school teachers persuaded me to return to blind faith.... which I did until my late 20's....
