I want our democracy back. No more Citizen's United, super PACs, dirty money, billionaires or foreign states buying elections.

Re democracy, the Founders gave us oligarchy; we cannot get back what we’ve never had.

However, we can get more democracy; we can get the direct initiative, referendum and recall (DIR&R) in more than the eighteen states whose voters now have them.

In the states without the DIR&R, voters elect people who choose whether to accept the bribes they will be offered, who choose to become predators and make voters their prey.

I cannot understand how anyone can support this scrotum dipped in cheeto dust. It disturbs me to realize that so many of my fellow Americans do not care about what he does and are willing to make themselves complicit in degrading this country.

It's a cult; de-programming is needed for them.

Apathy will only make it worse

It is very difficult to vote out big money...

Unfortunately Money Talks! Without money no one can run and win! I just hope democrats get enough money this year so we can get rid of our POS POTUS!

That goes right to my point.

What's the plan? Are our Democratic Congress leaders up to it? Wishful thinking does nothing.

I want more things:

  1. Reparations
  2. Full civil rights and equality
  3. Equality at work place
  4. Health care reform
  5. Strict control over capitalism
  6. Full gun control, ban assault weapons, eliminate second amendment, prohibit all guns in hands of public, prohibit high power military style weapons with police, make illegal gun ownership punishable with a minimum of 25 years with no parole and make all gun manufacturers fully subject to civil suits with punitive damages by citizens, not just victims
  7. Healthcare research funding
  8. Eliminate religion from government and from everything that is funded by taxpayers at all levels
  9. Remove religion tax exemptions
  10. Make every religious worker register and require a license, CPE every year, and ethics course
  11. Disallow every abuse at church to be managed inside, every abuse must be reported within 72 hours of an outcry, make special courts to speedy religious abuse trials
  12. Increase tax rates above obscene CEO and executive salaries
  13. Stop golden parachutes
  14. Limit medicare and social benefits after certain high net worth
  15. Reduce the estate tax exemption to $3 million
  16. Make laws against diplomatic, military or economic relations with dictators or governments with low human rights records
  17. Withdraw all funding to Israel and Egypt ($3 billion in total)

Wishful thinking is one. A pragmatic plan and getting it done is another.

#6 is wishful thinking. #s 5, 12, 13 and more will require employee-owned workplaces.

@yvilletom

If Trump can build a wall opposed by most Americans, if gun lobby can control all anti-gun legislations for 50 years although the majority of Americans support it.....

Why can't a crazy Democratic president do any or all of these?

@St-Sinner Said president, whether crazy or sane, requires a Congress to enact the necessary laws.

@yvilletom You know how many crazy things Trump has done just with executive orders and changing rules?

@St-Sinner I read your bio and here you are, building a wall.

@yvilletom Some walls are good and are necessary. We have walls in ethics, morality, prisons, in flood prone areas called levees, corporate emloyee code of conduct, social and political correctness. Often walls separate the good from the unwanted.

@St-Sinner ...and another wall, ....
