This being an election year .In the past 50 years who would be judged to be a great president.
With the huge exceptions of the Vietnam War and letting Hoover's FBI harass MLK, I would say LNJ was a good or great president. He did so much for civil rights, began Medicare and Medicaid, and seriously eliminating poverty, way more than Obama even tried to do. Obama refused to even talk about poverty. Clinton was a sellout to the rich and corporations while ending welfare as it had been under Johnson and started NAFTA. So in summary, LBJ was the last good president in my book, but even he was deeply flawed. It has been all downhill after him.
Since LBJ left office in 1968, I guess he doesn't count for being in the last 50 years....
