His response to the contra virus shows that he does not give a damn for most Americans -- only for himself and his greedy cronies.

I don't understand WHY we are being told to prepare for this illness. How many people are traveling in from China on a daily basis? What is the problem with containing people who are traveling in from effected regions/countries? Why is there this ineffectiveness? Imagine a worse illness with a higher mortality rate. It doesn't seem that complicated. Quarantine. Test. Repeat. Person after person for incoming travelers. What is the problem? We better look at this and LEARN. In this modern day where new illness can emerge and people are constantly traveling, how prepared are we for a serious spread of illness? Who plans to handle such disasters?

@GhostSoCal According to a number I just read Wuhan is 10th mot popular Chinese tourist destination. 2.5 million visitors annually. I am sure this is a global number of visitors and vast majority would be from neighboring nations. That's a guess. Wuhan population is 11.08 million. So maybe 200,000 travelers during the past month. Wouldn't all travels to the region STOP as soon news of this illness spread? Now we are talking about more nations, more areas, of course. But again if this illness had a very high mortality rate, it's just appearing as ineffective capacity to contain. We need a much better response, imo.
EDIT: Just read this "The third and fourth largest source continents were America and Oceania, with the share of 7.9% and 1.9% respectively." (They are referring to tourism when they say source continents.) Wow so that would bring the number of Americans in Wuhan down to a much smaller number.
@GhostSoCal This is EXACTLY the type of mismanagement I am talking about! You get this sense of complete lack of preparedness. Is it lack of foresight to potential problems? Is it a lack of prioritizing public health? Or is it deliberate?
I read an article yesterday that Bill Gates created a plan on how the world needs to improve response to emerging diseases. And it has some good ideas in it, but just reading it makes me realize how woefully unprepared the world is for outbreaks such as these. It's a huge failure to assess and plan for a risk that is out there. And I by no means am criticizing the health professionals on the front lines. They have my utmost respect. I am referring to those in government and international agencies who are responsible for addressing and preparing for these issues. As soon as dozens were identified as having pneumonia in Wuhan of undetermined origin this should be immediate red flag with travelling. How long after we had that news did we stop incoming travel? Everyone should have responded with red flag on travel. I mean because now because we DID NOT respond quicker, how many are going to die?
@GhostSoCal Well not caring about public health is a BIG PROBLEM! When would a majority of Americans ever agree with THAT decision? Maybe I am wrong, but I think on the whole voters are usually right and I cannot ever see the voters thinking this is a good idea. Why are we at the whim of the President in this regard? This is WRONG. This is how you come to suspect that there are flaws in how our government is run. It feels like we are under a monarchy in this regard and the king has made his decree that we the subjects will now have to deal with despite our knowledge and preferences. Certain aspects of how the country is run should not be under Presidential control to disband and this is one of them! Trying to fix it now, it's late. Not saying all shouldn't be done now, but an ounce of prevention worth a pound of cure.
Also the public health website mentioned above does have updated information. I accessed the website via a link from my state's health website and that is where the older, not updated page was.
Trump is very destructive and I want him gone. But what is worse is the solution we are working on. It is worse. It is called Bernie. It will only make the problem worse.

Bernie will do more damage to Democrats than Trump ever has done. Bernie's running for president will bring a mayhem of losses across the board and on down ballots. Trump has not given such losses to Democrats yet. But Bernie will give Trump that supermajority Trump needs in 2020.
Everybody is talking about it. It is not just me.
