One definition of rationality is acting in a manner that is likely to achieve the goals one is pursuing. In that sense, and to Trump, he is acting totally rationally. He has only two major goals in life: feeing his massive, super hyper-inflated ego and fattening his pocketbook. In pursuit of those goals, he sees fear, hatred, bigotry, fraud, lying, vicious derogation and other such behaviors as tools to be used. Concepts like truth, fairness, morality, equality, democracy, constitutionality, patriotism civil and human rights, treating others with dignity and respect and many others that most of hold dear) are seen by him either as meaningless o as obstacles to be overcome.

We believe in those concepts and principles. Indeed we hold hem dear and they form the very core of our beings. That is why we see Trump as irrational and why oppose the man with such fierceness. His behavior and his goals in life deeply offend and trouble us. I ndeed we loathe what he stands for.
