Why can't more people in our world be like this? Are there just too many people wanting to do things that aren't good?

There is medical research done on the brains of liberals and conservatives which shows a larger area of the amygdala in conservatives. This area is noted for emotional responses based upon fear. It is also referred to as the Adolescent brain. it explains a lot.

Also within neurological structures you will get lesions in some brains making some people have less distinct emotional memory of their own experience so are less ego driven. Then you also have others who may have lesions in area's that can range from anything from mild to complete lack of empathy. There are a multitude of "black & white (noise?) thought" processors out there too .. It really is deep when you get into the brain mechanics.. I hadn't heard about this bit of research.. thanks! Runs off to search engine cackling..

@Nickbeee I am very interest in research on the brain. it is where it all begins. Its where we all begin...

Thanks lol !

Vonnegut fan here. Anybody who is not doing harm, purely because they fear punishment from a magical being, is suspect in my book.

I do not care why a person refuses to do harm . Their reason is as valid as any one else's. The decision to not harm is a positive aspect of ethical behavior based upon religious belief. Guilt is one form of ethical responses we feel when we have done something wrong or are about to.

Some of it comes from one's upbringing. Many people are brought up to expect a tangible reward for anything/everything they do. They never reach the point where the doing is the reward. It is difficult for some people to achieve this, and many never do.

Wow.... by that definition, I guess I'm a humanist.
