Thanks to federal policies, we now have returning travelers waiting hours in large crowds at the designated airports. Gee, if they weren't infected by the time they got to the airport, chances are pretty good they will be by the time they leave.

After the first video ends, a second, shorter video appears which shows the ridiculous extent of the congestion. I was unable to capture the second video by itself.

There is one person to blame for all this nonsense and he claims he is not responsible for anything. He also lies a lot.

Yeah, as an opinion piece recently stated, the joke of the Trump presidency is not funny anymore.

I wonder how much space they would need to give each person a 10ft bubble of space as recommended... amazing!

About 40,000 people arrived at the airport from international destinations. Yeah, they needed much more space.

@itsmedammit so we would have needed roughly 2.2 million sqare feet (with the hope that there would be walls people could stand next to durning a portion of their wait). What a mess!

It seems to me the big problem with this picture isn't really long waits. If I were running this little operation, I would presume there are infected and contagious people in this crowd, and have them distance themselves appropriately. Another problem is that all of these folks should already know that they should all be 6 feet apart. Why aren't they?

@IrishTxJudy That many people can't be from the same plane. In this situation, at some point anyone could run into some kind of queue. People should behave accordingly. Personally, if I were in that situation as a passenger, I would insist loudly about everyone around me distancing ourselves. I'm not going to stand there like a sardine in a can.

@IrishTxJudy And that comes down to the people running the airport. If need be, the queue should be running out onto the tarmac. There are failings on the part of everybody involved in this situation.

@bingst, @IrishTxJudy, They are in federally controlled space so the local airport folks have little control. These people have been waiting for up to over six hours in queue for the mandated screening. Yes the contagious possibilities are the point of what is so wrong with this scenario.

If you watch the video and then wait for the second, short video, you will see a more complete picture of the mass of people. They cannot move. They are screwed because there are only a handful of airports allowed to accept international incoming.

Sorry I could not capture that second video separately.

This is insane.

Yeah, we go to all the trouble to ban large gatherings, and then someone goes and creates one, one that probably has tons of exposed people in it.
