WHAT IS HAPPENING HERE?

Everybody is endorsing Joe BIden but nobody is for Bernie Sanders.

They know themselves that they have a looooong shot

@St-Sinnerdang.. I could handle watching Gillibrand sitting behind Biden’s right for as long as he wanted to talk.. 😉

Whichever candidate wins the Democrat primary will get my vote. Sanders might not beat the Orange Blob, because it would be very easy to just shout, "Socialist!" Biden has a couple of weak points, too, that the Orange Blob might take advantage of. It is possible that we have four more years of this disastrous president, but I will do my part, and vote for whoever runs against him.

It’s called selling out.

I disagree. It is seeing the writing on the wall.

The best way to force change is from within, not attacking from the outside. I think Sanders would have fared better if he had stayed a Democrat and labeled himself a Progressive Democrat instead of using the Socialist label. I know and you know that Democratic Socialism is not Communist Socialism; but it is still a label that stirs up a lot of fear in people.

And, Medicare for All is NOT the only way to get Universal Health Care. It is possible to have a public system alongside a private system for those who want it. And, it can't all be FREE of any cost as Bernie proposes. There is nothing wrong with paying a co-pay that is based on your income/ability to pay when you go to the doctor.

@Joanne
The fact that individuals have different needs, preferences and opinions is as it should be. That's why we vote. I'm not saying it's selling out for voters in general to choose Biden. I'm saying it's selling out for Gabbard. And that's just an emotional expression of my disappointment in her. I don't know what her internal reasoning is. But I thought she was a die-hard rebel, and apparently she isn't. Whether she actually sold out for money or promises of a position in the Biden administration, or she just reasons as you do is admittedly something I can't know. But I reason differently.

@skado I don't see it as candidates "selling out" either. They are facing the reality that Bernie is not going to be the nominee; he is too divisive and we need unity right now--not division.

I think Warren would have fared better, and maybe walked away with the nomination, if Bernie had not run and supported her. Instead, we had a bunch of Bernie supporters attacking her--calling her a "republican" of all things.

My dream ticket, at this point, would be Biden/Warren. If it is offered to her, and she takes it, I would not see her as a sell out, but as Biden accepting that those further left of himself are where the party is headed.

I doubt it he will choose Warren; and I sure hope he chooses someone with progressive credentials. At this point, I don't want to see Tulsi in the Veep position. But, no matter who is there, Biden will get my vote. Getting rid of tRUMPf is my main objective at this point.

@Joanne
I understand your philosophy. It’s a thoughtful one. It just isn’t mine.
