Just listened to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell speak from the Senate Chamber. He is such a snake oil salesman. He's as big a con artist as Trump.

His message was that the Dems were the entire reason that the new stimulus bill that was being held up. He made claims that he had done evrrything in his power (a lie and exaggeration) to make the process bi-partison.

In truth. the Senate Republicans released the Senate proposal last Saturday, without and Dem input. On top of that, he went and shared the Repub version with the lobbyists gor approval before he shared it with the opposing party.

The Repub version gave large concessions and bailouts for large corporations, without any oversight or regulation. Individual corporations would recieve large sums of cash (millions to billions) without having to account what they do with it. They were not required to use it to pay employee salaries, and could use it to pay shareholders and CEO bonuses.

The Dems were asking for a larger payout to individual workers. Plus they wanted to put oversight and control over how the corporate bailout was used. McConnell balked at asking corps to be accountable. That was the hangup. Repubs wanted unconditional giveaways to the corps that put money in their pockets and did not care about the working people (as usual).

So as you listen to McConnel summarize the process just remember he is an expert at misleading, exaggerating, and out right lying. If the average worker gets a stimulus bump, thanks the Dems and condemn the Repubs for the real holdup.
