Guilty here also, as to the time spent watching all this unfold.

For me, watching my state's statistics by county is almost like watching a game, where I'm rooting for my team/county to win, though also wanting the best results for all.

To explain: We have 4 counties and one Governor. Each island/county's mayor can expand on the governor's mandates, to try to slow the spread and therefore win the goal of having enough medical resources through the duration.

My county's mayor is really taking bold steps to curb the increase in community spread. I'm happy to be on the island/county with the smallest number and increase, today at least. And it's interesting to see what actions the other island/counties make to reduce their numbers.

With each county's residents urging their island leaders to do what works for their individual island's circumstances, I think it's a healthy competition.

Note: This is not to be confused with the sick way our president is wanting the states to compete for his affection in order to get much needed resources. That is a whole other story.
