Can some answer the question of AD/BC in measuring years when the likelihood that Jesus never existed

If not known BC is before Christ . And AD means after Christ meaning the measure of time after Christ was born. from year 1 to 2018 . This is what I was told in School 67yrs ago.

Roughly 400 years ago the church decided to get rid of all other calendars and enforce theirs on the world . Totally made it up and with a few lucky guesses . That's basically it in a nut shell
