This study shows that overall mortality rates for the EU countries as a whole are no higher than normal. There is some speculation that precautionary measures being taken are suppressing flu viruses, which are more lethal than many people realize.
An excerpt:
“Over the past few days, the EuroMOMO hub has received many questions about the weekly all-cause mortality data and the possible contribution of any COVID-19 related mortality. Some wonder why no increased mortality is observed in the reported mortality figures for the COVID-19 affected countries.”
My suspicion is that someday the drastic measures being taken against the Coronavirus will be seen to have caused more harm than good.
If a mosquito lights on your arm, you should not shoot it with a shotgun.
I'm really noticing the difference that medical care density and "currency" make on those numbers as well. It DOES rush in all strong and envelopes those that are weak and predisposed (along with a few other variables), but the number of deaths turns on medical care quality and depth. If too many come in all at once and the medical care collapses then it overruns the barricades that are the quality and consistency of care that protect our public. We aid that by not putting ourselves in positions to be sick and so on and so forth.
