THIS IS NOT SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE! The Small Business Administration is allowing churches to receive funding from the CARES act stimulus to pay clergy salaries.
American taxpayers should not be forced to subsidize religion!

I hear you there. I was the spouse of a minister and I know what kind of tax breaks clergy and churches get, and I don't think it's right for other than maybe a congregation that is very small. Even then, I doubt it's really legitimate.
And another pet peeve along this line is "In God We Trust" on the currency. C'mon! Separate church and state or have another series of bogus "crusades" against our own people.
Hopefully, one of the secular organizations will file suit and force the churches to pay it back. They were never legally entitled to receive it in the first place.
Nothing about the pandemic prevents parishioners from contributing by mail, etc. Religion should not be classified as a business. For every business, on pays money for a good or service. No good or service is provided. People walk out with what they walked in with. It is a scam and taxpayer money must not be given to non-taxpaying religious hucksters, no matter how established. Was money equally disbursed to Wiccans, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, etc.?
True in a normal situation. Churches were forced to close doors. If they were allowed to be open, they wouldn't be entitled to stimulus money.
These religious fanatics feel they are entitled and are above the law when quoting their religious dogma!!!
They don't pay taxes so why should they receive funding from the Gov't?
@nicknotes I agree. A local church posted their address for their members to continue sending checks. [saintmarksmalone.org]
