I remember when I worked for BellSouth a Cotsgo opened a block or so from.our office. It had electric cars in its store and and parking spaces that were free charging stations. I was elated, though had a 75 mile commute from the Keys to Miami. I don't recall how far it went between charging but wasnt far enough. The documentary "Gashole" tells the story of squashed inventions by oil/car companies.

Competition from companies, starting with Toyota, combined with tough emission regulations in most of Europe, has forced all car makers into a race to now develop their electric cars. Tough shit on the oil/gas industry as far as cars are concerned.
