In our lifetimes, we have never witnessed less effective leadership at the federal level of government than we are seeing daily. Everyday we see our rights as individuals compromised, our health endangered, our society degraded, our ability to improve our status handicapped. We see complete stonewalling on gun safety issues that result in nearly 40,000 deaths per year and do nothing. We see incompetence and lies that result in our current inability to do what ALL world powers can do to even TEST for a virus. We have someone in a position of power who willfully lies and poses merely to serve his ego and personal desires. We have corporate leadership and an upper . 1% (by income) that do nothing but line their own pockets and those of their shareholders at the expense of those who barely scrape by week to week and are still declared "essential" but never rewarded.
We as a society do not even deem it a RIGHT of another human to have essential healthcare, a proper education, a minimum shelter, or even enough food to survive.
We as a society are as sick as I could ever imagine the WEALTHIEST SOCIETY IN HISTORY to ever be. I am embarrassed by this and I vote accordingly. But voting is so rigged to favor the wealthy and the less populous areas of the country now (an individual vote in North Dakota is worth FAR more than a vote in California, New York, Florida, Texas, or even Colorado) that voting is no longer even an effective way to affect change. I am discouraged. I can not say I have any further faith in THIS version of democracy. This is not a democracy. It is a disguised version of oligarchy built over the past 50 years to bring us to a dictatorship by the wealthy, for the wealthy, and OF THE LABOR OF THE REST OF US. Stand up people. We need to take them down.

That’s exactly the conclusion putin wanted you and the would to make, and, he helped. It’s correct, though.. Our populous was not adequately stressed, entertainment was their priority, and they ‘knew better’ than politics.

As the messes watched fake movies, followed sports, fashion, unreality TV ...and a continuing flow of ‘shiny objects,’ Industrial Operatives never slept or lost focus on their mission to further distort our political system for their gain…

Seems we only vote Democrat after the Republicans have failed beyond the point of obvious - like now.. Problem is, the playing field has changed ..thanks to court appointments, gerrymandering, court decisions, enhanced voter suppression, apathy and intimidation. Add unlimited political expenditures from hidden sources, and the Industrialists have an easy time hanging on to just enough of our government to stop the People's progress.

Though they’re greatly outnumbered, and should be stomped at the polls, they’re not.. The seeds of discontent, voter apathy, propaganda and intimidation continue to flourish.. Some want revolution! Most want stable progress. As is, too many - due to the loss of industrial pensions and the tying of our personal finances to the stock market - vote safe, if at all. If the majority came to arms, I’d be there. As is … perhaps our apathetic lot has what it deserves.. Shithole nation status 😟

@Seeker3CO I’ve wondered… and have thought for a long time.. the rural religious gun hoarders have yet to see the fury of street savvy anarchists 😕

Couldn’t have written it better myself.

But as @TomMcGiverin asks, what honestly can we do? I have a friend who moved to Portugal because of where this county has gone. But I myself love living here.

‘Tom McGiverson’..? If that’s who, or what I’m envisioning - that guy runs off when the heat’s turned up 😉

One of your cats has a face almost like Grumpy Cat.

@Seeker3CO Your first two points are debatable, even tho I would not debate them, but your third point, that voting brings a certain loss when it comes to this level of corruption, is beyond debate. Anyone with half a brain and minimal honesty can see that. On that point, as Leonard Cohen said, "Everybody knows".

Nice to see you around again, Seeker...

@TomMcGiverin Yup, Oliver has angles that look just like Grumpy Cat. 😃

Can't argue with any of that. But how do we fight back or revolt when mass protests are now illegal and suicidal? One thing this crisis has shown us, however, is how powerful nationwide general strikes would be against the ruling class and their corrupt government.

Sort of like 1933 ++ Germany, no?
