If you sanitize your strawberries with hydrogen peroxide they will no longer be red but they will be very safe to eat.

The packaging is where the virus might be....hand-put into cartons for shipping, then put on the store shelves by hand. Just open it & dump the berries into plain water, just before use. Dispose of the package, then wash your hands!

I don’t eat strawberries, so no problem! 😁

Are you allergic?

@Lorajay no, just don’t eat them (along with most fruits and many vegetables!πŸ˜„).

Cochineal should solve that!

Prefer soapy water

Strawberries are too soft for soap and water. Water makes them deteriorate faster. Before the pandemic I used a vinegar wash which kills mold spores and made them last a lot longer.

@Lorajay that will work
