Many Atheists hold grudges against religious people and have preconceived notions of them. Carrying that baggage can sometimes hold a person back from developing themselves. Now and then we have to step back and center ourselves. We can't let hate define us.

I don't hate religious people. I find most of them to be pretty sad. They don't take responsibility when things go wrong, and they give away credit for all their hard work. Plus, they believe that all life is corrupt from birth and only Jesus can save them and their children from their inborn worthlessness.

I hate religion, for what it does to people and society.
Christians and other religious persons, I judge on what they practice, which in the case of some is nothing more than calling themselves a Christian or whatever.
However when someone will openly profess to allow that their religion shapes their opinions, makes them hate who they are supposed to hate, when they put home and family second to their religion, when they will turn their back on their own over a difference of opinion, when they shun those who have done them no harm and believe those people will be sent to ever lasting torment because the deity they believe in thinks they deserve it and they have not the courage to disagree for fear of the same punishment and yet still profess love for that monster of a god; I will openly tell them they are wrong, they are as monstrous as their god and that they invite the loathing of all decent people.

Meh. You describe hate as baggage that you carry, weighing you down. And that's valid - I would not presume to know your experience.

I see it, though, as an energy reserve. I don't use it all the time, but it can give me a little extra boost when I need it.

There are too many to hate … couldn’t keep track if I tried 😉 So, at the first sign of in-your-face-Religion - they’ve lost my respect. No hate necessary ~

I don't hate religious people but I can't publicly espouse my Atheism because their hate will rear it's ugly head against me.

As a new member, please understand my intent is to tread lightly; however, it is proving to be difficult indeed with such fodder, as presented in this post, being in such abundance among those whom I have thus far wasted time to consider that I am much worse off now than I was when I joined.

I must say very brazenly and with disdain that this post is poorly written and not supported by facts. I hope the poster is not an outspoken advocate for any group of people if this is the norm for distributing information.

Define many, if you will, and please name your source that supports your assertion that grudges are what these many atheists hold as they judge with the notions they developed in the growth and aging process of their lives.

Perhaps it is the poster that has profiled these many atheists based on the posters own baggage that has accumulated in a life not yet at its end. Grow up and grow a pair. If you are so inexperienced in life to think yourself wise with the words of this post, I hope your age is less than 20, otherwise I do not see enlightenment in your future.

Lately, I have come to believe that those of us who are the most open-minded become so corrupted with dreams of freedom that we close our minds to those who do not share our eccentricities.
