On Wednesday, the Mayor of Gallup, NM asked the Governor for a declaration of a state of emergency for the city due to the unprecedented explosion of Coronavirus. McKinley County is per capita only behind NY and NJ.
Today the Governor used the State Riot Act today. All roads into Gallup were shut down and blocked by State and Local law enforcement, beginning 1 PM today. All businesses are now on curfew. They must shut down by 5:00 Pm and remain closed until 8 AM tomorrow morning.
Do not know how long this state of affairs will be in effect. Glad I live 12 miles outside of town in an somewhat isolated valley. Strange times.
