@Allamanda Only because the nation’s finally awake, though I doubt for long.. ‘We’ love to elect a decent president, then drift back to sleep ..just as ‘our’ help is needed.

@Allamanda Sure wish ‘our founders’ hadn’t been so pissed with England to have ditched the Parliamentary system.. Would love to belong to The Atheist Party over here!

Yes, US elections are non-stop. Was listening yesterday to how this A-hole mitch mcconnell keeps winning - pure money! He & Republicans have eliminated campaign finance regulations, so as long as unlimited money talks … it Hollers 😟

Considering that fascism is a racist alliance between the state and corporations, essentially a corporatocracy, then we are already there. In order to take it to Nazi levels would require a war or other extreme condition to push more draconian measures on the population at large. For now it is just a question of gathering everyone's information and modifying their behavior through mass media and social media.

@Allamanda I try not to think, it makes my brain bleed. 😉

Thank you for the challenge; i read through the article once . Ill be reading the article more carefully. In the meantime I'll post this:

Of course we have become a fascist society ; Obama bombed 5 nations in 1 year and more besides. His henchwoman and trigger finger Clinton was ecstatic with grinning delight at press conferences about the "Interventions.
Then there's the definition of fascism; ' . . . a government controlled by business . . . '

Didn't people used to say that ALL germans were are responsible for the policies of the 3rd reich. Ive heard that said several times;

And that was written a year ago.

We've been gradually moving into fascism ever since the 1960s. It gathered steam with Reagan's nationalism, and became a real force after the USAPATRIOT Act. But fascism requires the will of the people to really survive and prosper. tRump has a base willing to believe his lies enough to become a real problem.

tRump is a poor example of a fascist because he is soooo self centered that he lacks the necessary self discipline shown in classic 20th century examples like Franco and Mussolini.

But tRump is a 21st century fascist. 20th century fascists were nationalists. 21st century fascists are transnational in character and that is what makes the movement so different, disturbing and difficult to deal with.

Other than that, the 2 forms follow similar paths to the 14 points of fascism as elucidated by Lawrence Britt.

tRump I think, especially makes one big mistake that better fascists (sic) never did, Hitler, Mussolini, and even little ones like Blair, all knew that if you stand for nothing, then you can appear to stand for whatever your audience wants to hear. You talk to the employers about controling unions, and you tell the workers about protecting their rights, etc. But tRump ( love the way you caps. that.) Is a bit too dumb for that , and seems to think it enough that his followers cheer. Sadly that however may not be fatal to his chances.
