Sitting here watching the world burn, it's sad that through doing so I finally have some hope for the future........ maybe our narcissistic society really deserves this, after all it is certainly making things worse for itself. I am hoping the U.S. can come out of this less arrogant, more empathetic, and less superficial....... but hey, maybe the death toll won't be enough to make that happen, perhaps society will just brush the memory of the dead aside with no significant motivation to change. How people are treating this is perhaps justification for some of the deaths occurring as a result, here's to this lasting until mid to late 2022!

People rarely ever learn from history....... perhaps turning up the volume on the harshness of consequences will help?

How many tyrants and incompetent leaders must society suffer before it learns the problem lies with the respect and support its populace is willing to give to those who have not earned such? Even the problem of Hitler was ultimately the fault of the population that gave him power, this mistake history will repeat endlessly until the correct lessons are learned.

For how long will societies glorify intellectual arrogance under the name "Faith"? The arrogant gather in their groups and worship their flaws vicariously through worshiping a jealous vindictive deity with severe case of entitlement and emotional instability. Through faith and how such a deity is defined, godliness becomes a path towards traits associated with narcissistic personality disorder, and through society's acceptance of such, it becomes normalized even in secular circles thus creating a developmental framework that can assure the multiplication of narcissism. Many types of people are a disease, luckily they will spread a disease among themselves as they pursue acting out their arrogance in gathering while in arrogance they proudly proclaim "I am covered in the blood of Jesus, the virus can not harm me".

As for now, I finally know what it feels like to find solace in watching the world burn, it's about watching the filth burn off, not about watching everything burn........ but even as I write this, I know this to be my darkness.........

Whom do you think is responsible for this?

One thing the past few years have taught me is that humanity is a bottomless well of folly. I was even half-believing the fiction that we were reaching some tipping-point of human advancement but it was just an illusion.

The luxury of watching the world burn from a safe distance is only available to a few of us. If you are a young couple with a child trying to keep yourself going on three not-quite full time $10 an hour jobs without fringe benefits, it's not so abstract right now, particularly inasmuch as you probably just lost those jobs but aren't getting unemployment, but the owner of your company is probably collecting subsidies of some kind. Or in the alternative you're an "essential" worker who gets to risk your life without PPE on top of everything you were already doing.

I always say the world will be fine once all the people are gone. We're the problem.

You have certainly diagnosed the true disease OK. But I think that the cure may kill the patient.
