Seriously need a boost to have some sort of "faith" in humanity as a whole. I don't get this. I thought the damn toilet paper thing was the end of our society. But it's getting worse.

Humanity as a whole is too broad a landscape. Find the pockets of resistance. Find like minds. They will help chart a path which, at the risk of seeming 'elitist,' involves elevating those less fortunate.

Might want to lower your sights. Humanity as a whole does not deserve our faith. We're a plague on the planet in many ways. But there are splendid individuals all around who do. Of course the first step is making sure we too are worthy of the faith of those we admire. The second is to treat everyone as though they might be worthy in all your interactions, at least until they convince you they're not.

I’ll often envision microbes constantly trying to consume their competition … then scale that up to humanity.. We’re simply aware of more things. I think our responses have been good, we’re taking seriously what needs to be taken seriously. We did not ask to be here, but exhibit an evolving benevolence.

Life feels both long, and short, so we’ll not see it’s end. It took my youngest to point out to me how far we’ve actually come... She was right. Let’s continue to shove that boulder further up the hill, if it kills us 🙂

I try to take the long view. Society gets better for a while, then it gets worse for a while. If you stick around long enough, it gets better again. So it goes.

Well, how about "hope" for humanity then? Be whatever changes you feel society needs, or at least your little corner of the world, and perhaps others will join you making your hope stronger.

Hello and welcome. Enjoy the site. I don't know about boost your faith in humans, but you will certainly find genuine people here, who will offer genuine support when needed. It helps however to tell them more about yourself, so best write your Bio, then you are more likely to be understood.

Good advice! (I haven't yet followed it myself, but it's still good advice. I'll get around to it eventually, I suppose.)
