Defund police vs. Keep policing Two incompatible ideologies? Maybe we need to reorganize certain aspects of our society and rearrange it along these lines. Similar to people who wanted to push reopening vs those who wanted a more cautious response, ideas are incompatible, exist on sides of a fault line. There was a case in MN not too long ago where a child was deliberately thrown over a mall balcony. How does a non-police response look like in that scenario? We pat offender on the back, or....what?
What about horrifying level of violence and assault that is committed against women on a daily basis? Or are women just supposed to go along with everything like we are always expected to and appease the male viewpoint? Look at the numbers, females are second class citizens in the world. I mean in certain countries you can literalky be beaten at will by males with NO LEGAL RECOURSE. How is this ANY DIFFERENT? Defunding police means allowing the unthinkable against the physically weaker sex. Doesn't it?

Then why do we hear this defund as though it is a legitimate aspect of discussion. Trying to push people OUT of Democratic party I suppose.
@Flowerwall I believe that’s a matter of language. No one wants the police removed. They want them to behave better.
@Gatovicolo Wrong. People want to defund police. Exactly what it says. Give em a social worker instead. And that sounds like I DON'T support increased social services, which is the OPPOSITE of what I believe. However when discussions turns to this, defunding, all support of ideas is lost. One vulnerable group of the population should not be sacrificed for another. And per usual we are expecting females to bear the brunt of the problems, as melee would ensue and women, and children, would be most at risk for being victims.

This is the pattern and the problem with our government. We go from one extreme to the other.
@Flowerwall Wrong. Some people are demanding defunding their police, the rest are talking about restructuring the police force. Stop being rude.
@Gatovicolo You should use a clearer line of speech to communicate. If you mean "offensively impolite or ill-mannered". You have no basis to make that attack against
me. If you mean "having a startling abruptness" , then why would I ever stop that?
