I understand that many people are coming into their reality of atheist or agnostic, therefore some discussion about that is going to come up. What I love about a site like this is just having the backdrop be that we all are on that page, and to know if I say something I can rest assured that no one will feel the need to pray for me or convert me. That said, I really don’t ever feel the need to continually validate my belief, so it makes it difficult to engage in a lot of conversations unless my sick humor kicks in. Just my thoughts.
Sick humor is always welcome. I think if you are somewhat new to living life naked (tongue in cheek ) it's nice to have discussions to reinforce how ya feel. I don't need to discuss or validate either but checking in with posts on those topics is nice and can generate some good jokes.
Number of topics and groups here besides religion.
That is my position also, Tony - and long may you keep that sick humour!
And we don't always talk about the main subjects. Look around and you'll find great discussions about all kinds of things. Then there are groups that a concentrating on one specific topic. Join some and have at it, Tony.
I'll pray for posts that allow for your "sick" humor...
Certitude is the enemy. In my opinion, we should be confident to the point of accepting both external and self-criticism, while remaining humble, as well as unashamed. Trust me, we are not all on the same page here, ever! Nature has shown that there are no two of anything that are identical, and that extends to thoughts and ideas. We communicate for several reasons, including community, validation and connection. But let's hope we can also communicate in pursuit of healthy criticism, positive critique and self-assessment. The worst fate for any group is to wind up in an echo chamber filled with self-congratulatory back slappers.
Absolutely correct....but that's just my personal opinion of course.
