I can't help but wonder: if Jesus was God, then why did he preach the usual vague stuff about being good? Being God, he was omniscient. A lot of the things he taught made no sense at all.

Couldn't Jesus have preached something his followers could have used, such as the germ theory of disease? Sure, it would have involved his followers accepting that things that they couldn't see could make them sick.

All he's have had to do was do the old royal road ("Because I said so!)", they'd have believed him, and countless lives would have been saved.

IF.... being the operative word
IF Jesus was God
IF Jesus had divine knowledge
IF Jesus ever actually existed at all

"If ifs and buts were fruit and nuts," as my granny used to say, "We would all have chronic diarrhoea "

You’re thinking like someone who lives in 2018 and not someone living in the first century.

But the bible says God is unchanging and all wise, so temporal constraints should not now or ever have applied.
Or is God not unchanging and if so was he perfect then, or now, or never... hang on isn't that blasphemy?

You know what trying to think like a christian gives me brain ache. I'll go back to thinking it's all bronze age crap.

@LenHazell53 Excellent idea.
