Where did disco go?

"Disco Demolition Night was a Major League Baseball (MLB) promotion"
[en.wikipedia.org]

"It was mostly just black records."

"Clubs that were disco clubs became country and western bars."

Funnily ironic that Chicago would go on to be a hub for House Music which would itself influence acid house, trance, and white clove smoking, glow stick twirling rave music.

Parallel trajectory for electrobass in Detroit and Miami, where infamous disco icons Bee Gees had recorded.

I always hated disco and country music. It sucks to be so marginalized as these two genres have always been really popular, one or the other, ever since I was a late teenager. At the same time, I have always liked soul, R& B, and blues, so it's not about race. Disco was just very repetitious, bland and dumb. The lyrics were also inane for the most part. I hate country music for many reasons, some cultural, others for the sound.

@Fred_Snerd I get that, but I prefer music with lyrics that are either intelligent or at least saying something heartfelt and passionate, not the typical disco lyrics of "Ohh, baby do that to me...etc.".

@Fred_Snerd I was not into dancing then when disco was big. I realize that the music was all made for the purpose of being dance music, but a lot of it ended up on the radio too back then. I have never enjoyed hearing it. I am proud of not being a typical Boomer in my music tastes.

@Fred_Snerd I enjoy your comments on politics, Fred. Are we done here? You are being a pest..

@Fred_Snerd I'm fine. Time to block since you want to play troll, Fred. Toodles...
