On a scale of 1 to 10. How fast do you disregard someone that comes off very religious to you? 1 being you tolerate it, 10 being you about face and run screaming.....

Instantly. I can't help it. If you believe in fairy tales I have no use for you nor can I take you seriously.

SO AGREED!!!! When someone starts off talking about how Jesus saved them and the likes I immediately get a picture in my mind of them flopping on the ground as the spirit passes through them..... I usually just walk off, can't help it.....

Depends on what the situation is, if i'm in a debate a solid 7. If i'm just meeting someone in real life probably a 3, I try not to judge or criticize someone until I know their beliefs or opinions on the social issues that stem from religion.

  1. The minute they start preaching to me is when it becomes a 10 then I cease contact lol

It depends on the person. I get along with people of religion up to the point where I see they they are consumed by it or worse, trying to convert everyone.

I have very good friends who are devout Catholics. They know I am a non-believer and not RC. We can talk about almost anything except religion. On that subject we agree to disagree. I have no problem discussing any doctrine, but have found that believers become very defensive when you question the many inaccuracies and inconsistencies in their faith. In my own research I have come to the conclusion that religious belief is a crutch for addictive personalities. Out of all the addictions available (drug & alcohol abuse, etc.) this "blind faith" addiction is definitely the least harmful on it's own merit. It only become something sinister when taken to the extreme as we have witnessed throughout history. How many conflicts were fought in the name of religion? How many continue to this day?

Really they are entitled to their views. Some are intelligent enough to debate or discuss others you simply ignore and smile

I'm about a 3-4. If somebody comes off as too religious, then I'm out. "Bye Felicia".

I don't date religious people on principle. It creates too much conflict, and contrary to popular opinion, opposites distract, rather than attract.

  1. I tolerate it.

Ironically, I never try to disrespect but religious opinions seem to be so damn sacred, people think you are allowed to not have a negative disposition about them, so you offend people regardless of trying to or not.

My responce is always the same, I don't believe that Jonah lived in a whale or that penguins walked from the South Pole to board Nohas Ark.

8 I'm overly tolerant.

I would say a 7. They give me severe head aches, but I do not feel the need to rip out my hair or throw a hissy fit just because someone doesn't think like myself. I try to be tolerant, because it seems that tolerance for non-believers like me are a rare find, so I try to be better than those people that try to shove their religious believes down my throat.

I have to listen to a lot of religious talk in my profession, unfortunately. (nurse). I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, but when someone is just spouting religious dogma all the time, I disregard them pretty quickly. (9/10)

About an 8. I walk away, but don't run away screaming. I just say I am atheist.

I'm at about a 4 or 5.

1...I can barely tolerate it!!

I would say 1 to a point. I’ll only listen so long and then I find a way to change the subject or just walk away.

Probably around a range of 5 - 8, I would say, depending on how religious they come off.

If I'm debating a 10, I love it, because the more religious they are, the easier it is to invalidate their position. If I'm not, I walk away because it's a waste of breath discussing.

I'm probably a firm 7. I have a hard time keeping my mouth shut...but I'm nice as I can be about it. Or I at least contain my laughter or disgust.
