I agree religious beliefs should be kept to oneself.

However, if there was no religion on earth we would still have wars. The wars are driven by a quest for more power over more people and resources. If they didn't have relgion as a justification for war, they woudl just invent another justification.

One of my favorite books is "Shogun", (by James Clavell) and there is a scene where an English pilot who was shipwrecked in japan is explaining to a Japanese Lord, that his country and the Portuguese (the only country that had trade agreements with japan at the time), are at war over religious differences. The Japanese Lord, says "That is a stupid reason to go to war". My point being that religion ws an excuse of justification, but the real reasons behind the war(s) was power over people and resources and who will have or get that power.

Terrible news the other day with ISIS now resorting to murdering over 300 fellow muslims in Egypt who were praying at a mosque.Millions dying(of all religions) in Syria,Iraq,Yemen,Sudan,Somalia ,Kenya,Phillipines etc etc.

I have had debates in the past with muslims who say that this is NOT their religion doing this they blame politics. It is a demented power struggle led by some very dangerous murderous thugs for sure ,I believe religion is used to an extent but basically the young men who commit these atrocitoes are phsycopaths getting high on drugs and high on the thrill of killing, all serving the purpose of a few evil leaders intent in creating a massive global war with all that do not kneel to their particular brand of Islam. It is a muderous sect doing this far as I can see.

I think so. No one should have to lose their life cause one refuses to believe in somebody else's invisible friend. Sorry, but I get irritated by the stupidity of sick people. I absolutely hate religion!!!
