In the profile questions, the question "Do you like to celebrate Christmas?" your choices are "Yes, No, Depends" I would like to see "Winter Solstice" as a choice. Would anyone else like to see this choice added?

Not really necessary, as yes, no, depends, covers it. But also maybe there could be a place to qualify the "depends" part, or have a "no, but other holidays" since celebrating the solstice, festivus, kwanzaa/boxing day, etc., are not so widely celebrated or practiced.

For me personally, I celebrate the 12 days between the natural solstice (the solar new year) and the calendar new year. There are many holidays of historical or contemporary significance which can be mildly celebrated, depending on what company I'm keeping, plus my own personal days, such as the anniversary of significant events in my own life.

I don't mind putting up holiday lights and enjoying secular christmastime traditions with my grandchildren, and also celebrating the celestial events, and so on.

But for me, but I like to take those 12 days between the natural and the calendar new year as a time to reflect and readjust my course, if need be, to appreciate what I have and cut out what I don't appreciate. Make new resolutions, or ground rules for my life, figuring that the previous trip around the sun has given me one more year's experience and wisdom.

Problem is there are many choices. In the time of ancient Rome it was called Saturnalia. I like this one so why not go back to the original term?

I celebrate the holiday season that includes Christmas. From Thanksgiving (here in the U.S.) to New Years Day. It is going to be called Christmas by most people. I like the gathering of friends and family. I like and play secular Christmas songs. I give gifts. To me it has no religious meaning,

YES,,,that is a step in the in a neutral direction ;
we as a group cannot TOTALLY change the biases- but
pushing for religious free social celebrations is a first step...

I agree...we need to start some time, why not now?

Winter solstice for me. I think that it has so much more meaning in northern Europe than a legend from the middle east.

No. It’s Christmas whether we decide to celebrate it or not.

I give Christmas presents because they're expected and people give me. I like to call it "the Holliday"

Presents are good...giving or receiving, nothing wrong with that and it can be done as it was initially as a part of the celebration of the solstice.

@Ode_1 I agree. I'm not personally looking to set trends. I just do my own thing.
