Weeks maybe, but I don't ever think one has lasted for months. Helena by My Chemical Romance has been my jam for about two weeks.

Lol. Thats my ring tone for my every other weekend guy.

Ear worms can only be evicted by another equally annoying song, in my experience,

I've had weeks long earworms with no rhyme or reason. I agree with Victoria below the best way to combat one is to listen to something else a lot. In the past have had to replace one earworm with another.

Sure have...and I got the song Runnin' With The Devil by Van Halen stuck in my head now for months, and I even sing it out loud sometimes. I don't mind having that particular song stuck in my head though, as it really makes uncomfortable any christians around me.

Judas Priest, 'Grinder'. Saw the video a few weeks ago and it's stuck in my brain. That and 'Trashed' by Black Sabbath. Damned YouTube....?

LOL ... Grinder, sorry about that.

@Qualia Could be worse. Could have been 'United'. 'The Ripper' would have been OK...

@farmboy2017 I love old JP btw 🙂

@Qualia I'm their biggest fan, sorta. I even like their newer stuff and I really shouldn't.

@farmboy2017 I'm remiss hearing anything past the 80's unfortunately, but do have Rob Halford in my likes on FB 🙂 What a cool guy.

@Qualia I understand he has his own band now??

@farmboy2017 Yes and I'm bad Idk what it's called, but he comes up in my feed now & then , sometimes in the company of various animals which is adorable. LOL

We had Joy we had Fun We had Seasons in the Sun. But the Hills that we Climbed were Just Seasons Out of Time.

That song pops into my head all the time! I try to replace it with a good song. Sometimes it works.

@HippieGrandma Could have been 'The hills are alive with the sound of music'!

My solution for that is to listen to the song beginning to end. you need to teach your mind the ending of the song so it does not perpetually loop.

Depriving yourself of the song only makes it worse.

Legend of a Mind - the Moody Blues - for 2 days now 🙂

And so often a completely random 70's song that I have no attachment to....or even actively hate.

Me too! Like 'Seasons in the Sun' or 'Billy Don't be a Hero'. Always something extremely cheesy and bad.

@HippieGrandma ....weeping in the dark with a heart so badly broken....

And all those awful things sung to a happy, peppy tune. (Alone Again, Naturally)

People at my work sing. That gets stuck in my brain for day. I have to walk away. It's horrible singing! Customers end up hearing it too! My ears! Most songs don't replay in my head with my music.

Not for months on end but have had songs in my head for hours. Can't imagine what it is like to have it day after day. 😟
