I'm not influenced in my atheism, but my favorites are Samuel Clemens, Tim Minchin, and Richard Dawkins.

I was an atheist before I knew the meaning of the word. As I had to trounce the religious tendencies of ex in-laws and an ex-wife, Hitchens played an integral role in verbalizing the disgustst I have for religion. While I share a great fascination with Hitch, as he could verbally decimate anyone, I certainly haven't the ability to remember too many of his quotes, but YouTube has an extensive collection of his verbal assaults. My absolute favorite quote though comes from Ricky Gervais ... "'It's a strange myth that atheists have nothing to live for. It's the opposite. We have nothing to die for. We have everything to live for."

I am a fan of Ingersoll, most of my reading on him has said he was an agnostic. I also like Friedrich Nietzsche, Voltaire, Hitchens and Sam Harris.

I'm with the people here who don't follow anyone. I've been an atheist since birth, so no one has ever influenced me in this subject. However, I do love Bill Maher, Ricky Gervais, Eddie Izzard, and Sam Harris.

I'm not interested in following someone. I have my own thoughts, and not willing to give them up for someone else's thoughts. I've seen a lot of similar stuff on this site. I just don't get it.

I figured it out on my own. I didn't need ideas from other people and support for my beliefs. That is what believers do.
