One of the problems I have with Christianity is that Christians tend to not research facts or think for themselves.
When I was young they claimed there were satanic messages in the form of backmasking on popular rock songs like Stairway to Heaven. But had any of them actually played the music backwards and listened, as I did. They would have realized the absurdity of the proclamation.
They like to argue that the second law of thermodynamics proves Evolution to be false. But they've never actually read the second law of thermodynamics.
They claim America was founded as a Christian Nation. But they've never actually read the writings of Thomas Paine or the other founding fathers.
They claim the Bible gives them the answers of Eternity and the explanation of the universe. But they've never really observed or contemplated the infinite expanse of the universe and the questions that arise pertaining to time and distance.
They claim the Big Bang to be false, but they've never actually looked at the overwhelming evidence.
They claim Evolution to be false, as they rush to the doctor to get their flu shot never considering the irony.
They claim the Bible to be the protected perfect word of their all-powerful god, yet they know nothing of the history of the Bible such as, who put it together and why. What sacred Scrolls were left out of the Bible, and why. They read the Bible while ignoring the fact that that same said god was used to promote a form of racial Supremacy for the Jews. They choose to ignore the countless times the Bible shows its fundamental belief that the world was flat and their perception was wrong about the Sun the Moon the planets the Stars.
The Moon is not a source of light like the Sun.
The Sun could not have been created after the Earth. And to say that the Sun was created on the fourth day is an example of blissful ignorance.
Stars cannot fall to the Earth. And to say that the Bible prophets were talking about meteors and meteorites is to say that god did not know, or could not communicate the difference between a clump of ice and rock that could fit in the palm of your hand, and an exploding Thermo nuclear bomb that is 100 million times bigger than the Earth.

I agree and have your same concerns but it doesn't stop believers. As for playing records backwards to get words of the devil, this fad went on into CD's before they stopped. It's crazy. In 1966 there was a record out called "They Are Coming To Take Me Away" and the flip side was that same song played backwards. This hilarious idea must be where believers got the idea. They would borrow it and make it all up the way they normally do. It's all batshit crazy!

One of the problems I have with humanity in general, rather than just Christians, is that humans tend to not research facts or think for themselves. We've all been given these incredible, efficent, analytical machines which we carry around in our heads all through our lives, yet a significant percentage of us will just spout any old rubbish we heard in church/saw on TV/read in a newspaper/found on Facebook.

Its the human instinct. You want to be in on what's new, so you quickly speed read what you believe is the main point and go from there.
