Science matters.
The science tells us that masks are retarded.
It’s the flu with media buzz.
I see the fool is back
@t1nick Please find another doctor that isn’t speaking for a state government that disagrees with.
We wear masks so that we don’t snot and slobber into your cut open chest and so you don’t squirt blood into our mouth and nose. Can you guess why we wear safety glasses???
If masks worked for a virus, we’d have been wearing them years ago for the cold and the flu. Pure political BS.
Hows the treating children in Alabama with voodoo dolls. That advanced medicine there. I see the deep state won't get to you. Wooooo!
@t1nick Way to stay on topic snow flake.
~when you can’t argue the facts; shift way the hell to the left and hope no one notices...................................
We argued this topic months ago conservative snowflake. Go sharpen your voodoo pins.
If your point is that masks do not work because people wear then incorrectly, Fine, I can except that. But instead of discouraging everyone from wearing them at all is irresponsible. As a supposed doc. You should be teaching them how to wear them correctly instead of whining about people wearing them.
Please don't apply to practice in the West US. We prefer legitimate doctors. Not those educated in backwaters and who don't know their trade.
@CourtJester it is You who went tangential from the topic. Trump eliminated the pandemic response team!!! Remember, the megalomaniac thinks he knows better than any of the experts, claims "science doesn't know," and considers his own immediate poll numbers the most important thing. YOU are nothing but an apologist for a would-be dictator who doesn't even care if people die. How do you even sleep at night?
@t1nick You raise a good point. I work with doctors day after day. I have known my share of doctors and nurses who still smoke. It just shows you that education may be important, but it does not guarantee wisdom. And yes, I see health professionals, too, who seem to make little effort to socially distance or wear the required masks consistantly. Ah, America, land of the selfish, home of the undisciplined and irresponsible!
@MikeInBatonRouge Then move to a more socialist crybaby nation that would better fit your feelings.
@MikeInBatonRouge You’re a funny man
@CourtJester idiocy. This country is very polarized, but there is much here to love. True love of country is NOT blind flag-waving, goose-stepping leader worship. It is being mature enough to recognize faults and fight to improve things. We have to call out lies and "alternative facts" like yours. This is my country. YOU represent fortunately a minority conservative opinion, which unfortunately through political gamesmanship and outright cheating has grabbed more political power than it is entitled to. Reality matters, and you don't speak for that.
Okay so explain Hong Kong.
@t1nick I haven’t spoken to any other doctors that believe a face mask would stop an airborne virus either. I wear a face mask in the hospital because it’s required. In the office, we ask people if they would be more comfortable if we did and we leave it up to them. If they’re okay with it, I take it off.
Anything that exhale goes out the top, bottom, and sides. Anything that you inhale comes in unfiltered through the top, bottom, and sides. You can also catch a cold, flu, or Covid through your eyes as well.
Masks make next to no difference. If an infected person coughs in a room with you and both are wearing a mask, you will quite likely catch any airborne virus they they have.
Nobody says its a hundred percent assurance. Last summer I sent you some peer reviewed articles whose research demonstrated that it can make a difference. If not in every case. at least in significant cases.
Besides, encouraging people to practice mindful and proactive hygiene and healthcare practices, mask wearing would go along way to heading off many potential ailments beyond just COVID. It would get the general populace to think beyond their own selfish interests and realize that their actions extend beyond themselves.
The country used to have an ethos that included this thoughtfulness. Not everybody, but it underlied the morays of the country. A simple mask wearing could reinforce this paradigm. You wear it for your neighbor. not just yourself.
No insult, since you are not from here, but I am not inclined to accept any opinion that comes out of Alabama. It is one of the four most backward states in the Nation. The Bible Belt has kept it woefully ignorant and behind the rest of the Nation in almost every meaningful category. Its 49th or 50th in the Nation for Education. White privilege keeps it socially backward and oppressed. So the medical prognostication coming out of Alabama holds little weight, not only to me, but many throughout the rest of the country.
@t1nick You won’t take it from Alabama because my medical placement is from New York?
@t1nick They have far worse to say from New York. I can tell ya.
