I'd argue that it is much more than just 300 years.

If Christians will commit two millennia of atrocities against other Christians why is it any surprise that they will persecute those outside of their particular "faith"?

Atrocity, oppression and brutality are very often the product of religion with unchecked political power.

@SpikeTalon I was not aware of this history. Thank you for the share!

Reprehensible, historical Christian atrocities.
Meanwhile, the atrocities of Islam persist today.

Any religion that win political power will do shit.
Christianity still does shit in places it still has hard power like in some places in US where armed christians still "own the city", or in african regions where christian militias have "de-facto" control of territory.

Happens that most of countries where christianism is the major religion have a laic hard power (police and army) so religion can't do much direct harm there.
But take a look into religious covidots and how much harm they did. How the death numbers increased due to them.

@Pedrohbds You make some valid points. Objectively, the harm currently being done in the name of Christianity pales in comparison to the daily atrocities committed in the advancement and propagation of Islam.
